Speak Easy is Nottingham’s premier rock pub, unafraid to stray into the realms of capital-M Metal. Drinks are cheap especially after a quick flash of your student ID and the menu includes some rather nice Rage Against The Machine themed cocktails as well as the usual beer, alco-pops and mixer standards. Music is as you might expect, from classic rock, to the current emo trends, to trash and, naturally, the occasional grunting black metal song possibly featuring an ogre. Often not so loud as to prevent you from holding a conversation - a welcome change - the bar also features a jukebox and a selection of video games, including the compulsory quiz machine, the source of much poverty and argument.
