When I first arrived in Nottingham I for a short time laboured under the mis-apprehension that this place was some kind of classic goth hang out with Bauhaus, The Sisters and The Cure playing and men hanging around with eye-liner on. I was thoroughly deceived. The Pit is part of a chain of horror/gothic themed pubs, with the scrapings of vaguely electro rock such as Firestarter-era Prodigy and Garbage playing and the occasional real goth or Kerrang kid hanging about.  Apart from on Tuesdays, when they really do host a gothic night!  It makes an interesting place to drink, with it’s Frankenstein’s laboratory or Dracula’s castle chic, downstairs faux-dungeon and mysteriously concealed behind of bookcase toilets, replete with “ghost”. It also features the Seven Deadly Sins, seven weird cocktails for you to slur your way through. Perhaps slightly over-priced, it also does food. Worth a giggle.

Don’t be expecting any live music though…
