As the name suggests Moog, musically at least, primarily concerns itself with cutting-edge electronica, post-rock, glitch, IDM, dub, drum and bass and numerous other dance sub-genres that lean toward the experimental. So much so that living legend Aphex Twin, Richard D. James himself, chose Moog as opposed to any other venue to host his Rephlex label’s tour last year. The perfect place to expand your musical horizons, the bar is one of Nottingham’s true undiscovered treasures. Apart from being an interesting venue and a pleasant place to sit amongst the gritty décor and have a quiet drink or perhaps a dance, Moog also serves tasty and fairly priced food, both light bites and meals of a organic and vegetarian friendly flavour. Even if the music is not your cup of tea, the delicious food and sunny roof garden makes Moog a must, it’s only draw back being it’s relatively obscure location and it’s occasional lack of seating on particularly packed nights.
