As one reviewer stated “a goldmine/fire hazard/death-trap all rolled into one”. Piled from floor to ceiling with second-hand vinyl, Rob’s is the perfect place to find a bargain, if you have the will and energy to leaf through hundreds of discs to get there. Rolling up your sleeves, you are forced to crawl through the wreckage, trying not to step on any records or miss anything brilliant. I’ve had girlfriend have to leave because they couldn’t stand the mess. But with this spirit in mind, you might find a hidden jem. Or not. It’s often down to luck more than skill, but when you are paying £0.50-£5ish per LP you can’t complain. Rob himself, naturally, seems to know where everything in his store is and is open to a haggle. Then again he’s been at that spot for 26 years. As well as vinyl, Rob also has a smaller selection of CDs and videos and it is the perfect place to attempt to offload unwanted records. If you want something pleasingly priced, rare or are simply curious, seek it out, if you have the patience.
