Stealth Vs. Rescued
Where? Stealth and Rescue Rooms, Masonic Place
When? Every Saturday
If you only do one Nottingham club…well of course you’re not going to do one, but Saturday’s “Rescued” is Nottingham’s most lively and consistently enjoyable night out. With most of Nottingham tacky or overpriced at the weekend, this merging of these two musical institutions proves an irresistable migratory point. With both clubs at your disposal - SvR offers you five bars, four dance rooms and hundreds of girls to try and impress with your arrhythmic dancing and witty banter. Once you’ve rushed in before the 10.15 curfew whilst it’s free to get in (a eye-raising £6 after folks or £4 with your High Soc membership card!), head to Rescue Rooms for the latest indie disco bangers, then get low upstairs in the Red Room to some dirty grime and dubstep. The integration of Liars Club, once the crown jewel in Nottingham’s social calender, in the basement of Stealth may have dimmed its reputation somewhat, but it still manages to put on some of the brightest new bands, with Foals, These New Puritans, No Age and Justice having played in the last year. Stick around afterwards and shift your body weight as the resident DJs see the night out with their home brew of racous electro sleaze. If your feet are up for it, slowly migrate upstairs along with the remaining rave-monsters for more pounding house and techno. Walk home with a small chips and garlic mayonaise and sleep till Monday.
