Past a more than moderately greasy chicken dispensary, along a bit and then down a grubby alley is an oasis of leafy calm and organic good taste in Nottingham’s bustling shopping hell. As well as the thoroughly stocked bar and great coffee, the café serves an absolutely delicious selection of vegetarian and vegan food, so sublimely and inventively flavoured that even the most militant of carnivores will go weak at the knees. Add to this the occasional DJ playing soul, funk and dub and a remarkable selection of pre-night out cocktails and you’ve got an experience you wouldn’t shake a tofu patty at. The only problem is that its brilliance breeds popularity and on a busy Saturday afternoon it can sadly be difficult to find yourself a seat.
