Nestled in the heart of Lenton just behind the imposing concrete tower blocks (visible from Derby Road), the Crocus is a staple feature of any self-respecting lenton-ite, a vegetarian community café staffed by volunteers. It has a constantly changing menu. Spinach lasagne, thai curry and an awesome bread and butter pudding being just a few of their specialities. The main meals are £2.50, a soup or a dessert £1.50; all in all very cheap for the superb quality of this food and a great way to eat well or while away afternoons with tea and the papers, and all whilst supporting the local community!
